Announcing the NFTY NW 2021-2022 Regional Board Candidates

We are thrilled to announce the candidates for NFTY NW’s 2021-2022 Regional Board! Each of these candidates has demonstrated leadership in our region with the many gifts and tremendous passion that they’ve already brought to our community, and the fact that they are choosing to run is a demonstration of their love for NFTY NW. We will be electing next year’s Regional Board at Virtual Spring Kallah, April 23-25. In advance of the event, please read through the materials for each candidate to ensure you are an informed voter for this election process. Candidates for President

Noam Hashash

Noam Hashash currently resides in Renton, Washington, and will be a senior at Hazen High School. Noam spends his days grilling, playing with his cats, and laying in the sun. Noam served as the MVP in the northwest region for the past year. While in this role Noam has learned many things about what it takes to serve members of a community and is beyond excited to use those lessons in his role as president.

Candidates for Programming Vice President

Jordyn Hirsch

Hey NFTY-NW! I’m Jordyn Hirsch (she/her) and I am running to be your NFTY-NW Programming Vice President. I am currently a Junior at Issaquah high school. During my free time I like spending way too much money at Starbucks, listening to music, and seeing my friends safely. This year as PVP has taught me so much about NFTY, Programming, and teen life during this pandemic. I would be honored to serve as your NFTY-NW PVP again, and I am beyond excited for what this year brings!

Candidates for Social Action Vice President

Zelda Fishman

What’s up everyone?! My name is Zelda Fishman, I use she/her pronouns.  I am a freshman from Boise Idaho and I am running to be your next Social Action Vice President. When I’m not in school, I’m throwing discus and shot put in track, playing volleyball and planning CABIT events. My focus is to share ideas and goals to help NFTY contribute to the world. I can’t wait to “see” y’all at Spring Kallah!

Candidates for Religious and Cultural Vice President

Daniel Flash

Hey NFTY-NW! My name is Daniel Flash, and I am running to be your next Religious and Cultural Vice President. I enjoy playing guitar, hanging out with friends, running, playing soccer, and swimming. I have been a part of NFTY since my 8th grade Spring Kallah and I have also been going to Camp Kalsman since I was entering 3rd grade. I am super excited for this upcoming year of NFTY!

Candidates for Membership Vice President

Zoe Nemetz

Hi, my name is Zoe Nemetz (she/her), and I am running to be your Membership Vice President for the 5781-5782 year! I am a junior at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, Washington. I am an extremely active congregant at my temple and president of BETY. Outside of temple, you can often find me on the soccer field, or tennis courts spending time with teammates.

Lyn Strober-Cohen

My Name is Lyn Strober-Cohen, I use They/Them pronouns and I am a Junior at Yellowwood Academy and Nova High School. I am a queer activist, content creator, journalist and lover of music. Through NFTY and TDSY I have gotten to have so many amazing opportunities, for which I am so thankful. I am so excited to see what the future holds for NFTY!

Candidates for Financial Vice President

Carly Cohen

Hey NFTY-NW! My name is Carly Cohen (she/her) and I’m a junior at the Northwest School in Seattle. In my free time, I enjoy rowing, hanging out with my friends, and water coloring. For the past three years, I have worked as a madricha at TDHS, and this past year, I served as one of the Youth Program interns for TDSY. I am so excited to see what this year brings, and if elected, I can’t wait to show you all the amazing ideas I have in store for our region!
